What will you find at the rally?
Full Size Steam Engines
This long established event sees the coming together of some 50 full size steam engines from all parts of the country. There are stunning showmans engines with their gleaming twisted brass, (often working the fun fair), road rollers, ploughing engines, heavy haulage engines and agricultural engines.
There are also miniature steam engines, the ability of these scale engines is often underestimated, they can pull a vehicle of considerable weight, plough fields and power saw benches, some will be giving free rides to the public this year.
The working section puts on a number of demonstrations including wood sawing and threshing, mainly driven by steam.
All types of vintage vehicles including cars, motorcycles, tractors, commercials and military vehicles will be on display.
Many older type rides add to the fun of the fair including steam gallopers and juvenile rides, all old favorites.
The marquee holds a delight for everyone interested in model engineering and traditional crafts.
A wide variety of wares to buy from the many traders who regularly attend the rally.
Throughout each day parades of the various types of vehicle displayed, including a grand parade of steam engines. You will also see the steam engine crews having fun driving around the site and showing what the engines were designed to do.
In this area you will see working horses demonstrating, a farrier, a hawking display and entertainment with dog agility, Morris Dancers, Carnkie Cloggers and more.
